  1. […] Who knows? I haven’t died. What I am sure of is what will not happen. We will not end up in a place of eternal torment from which we may never escape. Such a place could not exist without God supporting it, and no God worthy of the name would make such a place. As I’ve explained at greater length in another article, There is no Eternal Damnation in Hell. […]

Well it’s true that there are people that don’t believe in the Eternal damnation.

It’s true that God is love but we should not forget that he is justice too.

And the Bible verses that you mentioned the love of God are all true.

But the Bible says clearly in Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
    Romans 6:23

So we can see that the consequences of sin is death (the second death better known as hell)

You told too in your article “So, if God exists, there is always hope for sinners, even in the face of punishment for sin, and no one is damned to eternal punishment in Hell.”

Yes you are right there are always hope for sinners and that’s hope is Jesus Christ because the Bible says that we all sin (so technically we are all sinners)

Just by the fact that we are still living we can tell that is an opportunity that God is giving to us to escape from the damnation (hell).

So yes for every sinner in the world there is hope.
Because he can still repent and turn is life to God.
Accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

The Bible says clearly that those are the only things that we must do to be saved

Peter said to them, “Turn to God and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
    Acts 2:38

“Anyone who believes me and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe me will be condemned.”
    Mark 16:16
    (that’s Jesus talking)

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
    John 3:36

    And the list goes on.

And how can someone that already died repent and accept Jesus?
    Well that wouldn’t be possible.

That’s what I had to say.

And in conclusion I don’t want look like I’m telling that God want us to go to hell or something like that, the Bible says in 2 Peter 3:9
“The Lord isn’t slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost.”
    2 Peter 3:9

We clearly see that God don’t want anyone to go to hell that’s why he sent Jesus to die for us.
“God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die.”
    John 3:16

And that’s why he’s been patient with us giving us time to repent and turn our lives to him

May God bless you and everyone that will read my comment ??

My name is Alan Finch. JESUS became my Lord and Saviour in April of 1976.

In John 12:32, JESUS clearly states that He is going to draw ALL people to Himself! Not a portion of mankind, but ALL of mankind.

In John 6:44, JESUS clearly states that nobody can come to Him, except the Father draws that person to JESUS. If you are a true Christian, you only became a Christian as the result of the God’s Spirit drawing you to JESUS. Don’t kid yourself, you only came to JESUS because God’s Spirit drew you to JESUS!

In the present, and in the future, God has His own timing when He will draw each individual to Himself.

GOD HAS NOT FAILED IN HIS ORIGINAL PLAN FOR ALL OF MANKIND. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO FAIL IN ANYTHING!!! GOD HAS A PLAN FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL. THAT WAS GOD’S WHOLE PURPOSE IN CREATING US TO BEGIN WITH.

I have spent the last several years Biblically expounding in a 31 page document that I have put together on the truth of there being no eternal suffering in a Lake of Fire or eternal annihilation. ECCLESIASTES 3:11 TELLS US THAT GOD HAS PLANTED ETERNITY IN OUR HEARTS!

Fergus, hell and the lake of fire are very real and when I died in my automobile accident of Aug 30,2002 I was chained up and being taken to the lake of fire which is in the center of hell and the worst part of hell to be cast into it forever with 3 sets of chains on me keeping my wrists and ankles locked behind my back cruched together, extremely uncomfortable!!

Hell and the lake of fire exist the only reason I am here writing to you is that God the Father gave me a second chance from pure grace without me expecting any such thing!

I have bern in hell and was about 3000 ft or so above it God broke those 3 sets of chains but if God had not been merciful I would be in that lake this very day!

If there was no eternal damnation in hell, Jesus would not have been crucified and raised from the dead for all sinners.
15 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. 16 But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life. (1 Timothy 1:15-16, ESV)

Right, great point, as why would he have had to go through such a cruel death and suffering, if there where no such thing as hell?
If a soul that does not believe in Christ, only perishes in that they cease to exist, then why would there be a place in which to “not exist”? No sense to have a place to not exist in! Basically, when it say’s God cast them into the Lake of Fire, (which is a place) to be tormented, how can a non existing being be in such place or, for that matter, anywhere? No, hell exist for punishment of the unbelievers, who exist forever.
His suffering on the cross was real, as real as the place in which he suffered to keep us (that believe) out of!
